Dr. Gary White

Expertise, Education, Excellence

An East Brainerd native and graduate of the University of Tennessee Dental College, Dr. Gary White is committed to continuing education. Since graduating dental school, he has spent countless hours keeping up with current dental treatments, modalities and the best in dental materials. It is what he believes his patients deserve.

As part of his training, he has gained membership with the Academy of Operative Dentistry, the Pankey Dental Institute and is a graduate of Dawson’s “Concept of Complete Dentistry.” He is also a member of the American Dental Association, the Tennessee Dental Association, the Chatt Area Dental Association and the Tennessee Valley Study Group.

His commitment to dental excellence began early. Believe it or not, Dr. White started at this practice as a patient when he was just three-years-old and has been here ever since. During college, he worked at Mynatt Dental Lab here in Chattanooga every summer.

Says Dr. White ~

I love my work because I really love working with my hands. But what I love most of all is working with people striving for better appearance and health. My primary focus is on working with patients, educating them and increasing their dental knowledge. I really think that the best dental treatment is worthless if my patient doesn’t understand how to care for it.

In his free time Dr. White is a custom furniture builder working with his favorite woods, Mahogany and Cypress. He also enjoys motorcycle touring and rides a ’08 Goldwing.

Dr. White has been married to his best friend, Melissa Patrick White of Chattanooga, since 1983. They have two daughters, Jessica White-Hicks and Rebecca White-Lewis. Both daughters live in Chattanooga.

Anna, Registered Dental Hygienist

dental hygienistA graduate of Ooltewah High School and Chattanooga State Technical Community College, Anna has been with our practice for over 15 years and in dental care for 21 years.

Her duties include dental cleaning and hygiene, taking x-rays and photographs and making appointments. She is also an important part of patient education, discussing patient concerns and answering questions.

Anna says that what she loves most about her job is the patients she cares for. “Our practice is a small, friendly office. We practice quality, not quantity, never overfilling our schedules so patients are given our full attention and time. It is what our wonderful patients deserve.”

Anna is an active mom and step-mom of four wonderful children. She spends lots of time with her kids, involving herself in their activities and lives. Spending time with the children and with her husband is her favorite way to pass the day. They all enjoy being near the water, swimming at home or playing with jet skis on the river. The family lives on a farm so there is always something to keep everyone busy, but they find time to vacation, especially at the beach because, according to Anna, “Sun and sand are the cure for almost everything.”

Melba, Office Manager

office managerA graduate of Brainerd High School and Chattanooga State College, Melba has been in dentistry for 25 years and with our practice for over a decade.

Melba’s duties include running the office, helping patients with their billing and insurance. She also helps the doctor chair side when needed.

Melba loves her job and says, “We take pride in providing courteous service to each person that comes into our practice. By making each visit a pleasant experience, we have developed long-term relationships with our patients and their families and that is one of the best aspects of my work. I enjoy having a personal relationship with our patients. They are all so nice and a joy to be around. Because I grew up in this area, I have been reunited with a lot of people that were once my neighbors and friends. It is fun when they come in and say, ‘I used to rock you when you were a baby!’ Now I am taking care of them!”

In her spare moments, Melba enjoys gardening, reading and spending time with her husband, who was her high school sweetheart. She also enjoys visiting with her nieces and nephews and having them over for cookouts and bonfires. She has been a member of Bibleway Baptist Church in Rossville, GA for the past ten years.
