General Dentistry

We really believe that everyone deserves good, honest, comprehensive dentistry. What does that mean? It means that we care for your mouth as a whole, helping you obtain and maintain total health, not simply treating problems as they develop.

It starts with childhood care and continues with preventive general dental treatments all through life. We take this kind of lifetime care very seriously. That is why all of our general dentistry is both preventive and comprehensive.

The regular check-ups and cleanings of general dentistry can keep smiles of every age strong and healthy. And if you need something like oral surgery or emergency care, we make sure it is as comfortable as possible.

We offer a full menu of general dental treatments, including

Your well-being – it’s something we never take for granted. It is why we work so hard to keep you comfortable…and it is also why we emphasize the importance of your regularly scheduled exams and screenings.

These dental exams and screenings allow us to look for developing signs of periodontal disease, oral cancer, TMJ, and even the earliest signs of tooth decay. We know that when a problem is caught early, it is much easier and less expensive to treat and has much less impact on your systemic health.

To ensure that our screenings are the most accurate available, we have invested in the latest technology such as digital x-rays and intra-oral cameras to allow us to get a detailed overview of your entire mouth including your teeth, jawbone, sinuses and other parts of your head and neck.

Each exam room has a computer for easy storage and access of your screening results, allowing us to quickly access your information for comparisons and updates.

If during your comprehensive exam we discover that you need major dental work, we will always be sure to work with you to create a detailed treatment plan before we begin any work.

You know that good oral hygiene and regular check-ups keep your teeth and gums healthy. But did you know that advanced hygiene and proactive tooth care could help improve and protect your overall health as well? It’s true.

Preventive dentistry combined with good at-home care is essential to keeping your teeth and gums healthy and strong. In fact, Dr. White recommends a personalized, proactive schedule for teeth cleaning that suits your lifestyle and health needs.

Regular cleanings and yearly x-rays give us the opportunity to keep an eye on your overall dental health, monitor the condition of your teeth and gums and allow us to identify any problems while they are small and easy to repair.

We use a variety of comfortable and highly effective tools to assist us in your dental cleaning. Hand instruments (scalers) are the tools we usually utilize to clean our patient’s teeth. We have found that most regular hygiene patients prefer this for their routine cleaning.

We also have ultrasonic cleaners which are primarily used for more advanced periodontal care. Our ultrasonic scaler, which uses high frequency sound waves (instead of metal scrapers and hand scalers) to clean teeth, is not only amazingly gentle but has also been proven effective in removing tartar from both above and below the gum line.

You’ll leave your cleaning with sparkling teeth and healthier gums.

If you and your family want general dentistry that is both personalized and comprehensive, call Dr. Gary White. He’ll keep you smiling – for life!
