Frequently Asked Questions

Often our patients have questions concerning our practice. Here are some of the most asked. If you don't see your question, give us a call. We'll be happy to listen and answer any question you might have.

DO YOU TAKE MY INSURANCE?

One of our most frequently asked questions is” Do you take my insurance?” We do! While our practice is not a member of many insurance networks, this does not mean we will not file your insurance for you or that they will not pay us.

We are now in the Delta Dental Premier Program Network

Being a preferred provider means the dentist has an agreement with an insurance company for discounted work. Dr. White chooses to do affordable, quality work without having to conform to the restrictions and limitations dictated by insurance companies.

It is really quite simple: we file your paperwork, your insurance company will pay us out of network benefits and you will be responsible for the difference between Dr. White’s charges and the amount paid by the your dental benefit plan.

The only insurances we cannot file are HMO’s. Those plans will ONLY pay dentists that have signed up to provide services for that particular program.

CAN I MAKE PAYMENTS?

Payment for services is due at the time they are provided, unless other arrangements are approved in advance. For your convenience, we accept all major credit cards and offer CareCredit.

DO YOU USE COMPOSITE FILLINGS IN BACK TEETH?

We do, but only when the chances for success and comfort are likely. Composite fillings are usually only beneficial for fillings that cover one surface of a posterior tooth.

WHAT BLEACHING SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

We use a bleaching system that has been around for 40 years. It is a medium strength bleach (10-15%) shown to be safe for extended use. A custom fabricated bleaching tray or mouthpiece is filled with the prescription-strength solution and worn at home, usually at night.

WHAT DO YOU CHARGE FOR CLEANINGS, EXTRACTIONS, FILLINGS, ETC.?

While some questions are easier to answer than others, this is one of the most common – and most difficult to answer questions. Every treatment is different and customized for each patient. These procedures fall into varying categories – simple vs. surgical extractions, how many surfaces a filling may cover, and the type of filling material being used. Even cleanings vary depending on patient needs. Patients are scheduled with the doctor for a comprehensive exam, and a full set of x-rays are taken before the first cleaning can be performed. At that time, Dr. White will determine if a regular cleaning is needed or if a more extensive, deep cleaning is necessary. These deep cleanings may require more than one appointment. Clearly, no treatment at our office is one-size-fits-all.
